Virginia Secretary of Technology Announces Plans for COVITS 2008 - "Delivering on the Promise"

RICHMOND - February 29, 2008 - Secretary of Technology Aneesh Chopra announced today details for the Commonwealth's 10th annual IT Symposium, COVITS. This year's conference, "Delivering on the Promise," will be held at the Marriott in Williamsburg, Va September 7-9th. COVITS is the premier forum for Virginia's public and private sector IT leaders to exchange ideas on the role of technology in simplifying government operations. To strengthen the quality of the COVITS program, Secretary Chopra also announced a partnership with e.Republic, Inc., Government Technology magazine and the Center for Digital Government, divisions of e.Republic.

2008 Governor's Technology Awards - Call for Nominations

The Honorable Aneesh Chopra, Secretary of Technology, will present the Eighth Governor's Technology Awards on behalf of Governor Timothy M. Kaine at COVITS 2008. This awards program honors outstanding achievements and recognizes innovative technology initiatives in the public sector throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia. Winners will be honored during the COVITS event, scheduled for September 7-9, 2008 in Williamsburg.
